The Battle’s Not Past

Satan’s darts are being thrown,
While guns are being fired.
Bloody bodies, broken bones-
Nothing to be admired.

Faithful men all around are falling.
Men who I thought would stand forever.
Listen closely. Is God calling?
That is my hope ever.

Suddenly, the heavens open.
My Savior lifts me and others too
Saying, “My children, come on in!”
His precious promises ring true.

I myself am safe at last
Walking with saints of old on gold paths,
But the raging battle’s not past
For others must now endure God’s wrath.
